Treasurer/Certified Public Accountant

OVERVIEW OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a CPA to serve as a member of our Board od Trustees and help us with budgets, developing accounting procedures, working through different management and financial problems, as well as with financial reviews and audits. S/he should be aware of the numerous requirements applicable to non-profits. This person should be familiar with non profit tax filing to establish standardized accounting system for our non-profit.

The volunteer should be able to work a flexible schedule and establish accounting information in an appropriate software program [come up with different data processing systems and information management systems].

This is a very important position, which requires a high level of responsibility in administering large funds. Failure to adhere to rules specific to non-profit organizations can subject officers and board members to penalties, and may even jeopardize an organization's tax exemption.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

7+ years experience as a CPA, as well as controller/auditor in a non-profit organization. Financial experience. Senior level desired. Be licensed to practice both in New Jersey and New York State.

Ability to listen, analyze, think clearly, work well with people individually and in a group within the set up of a start up organization. Willing to prepare for and attend board and committee meetings. Willing to execute tasks when requested. Possess a friendly, responsive and patient approach, personl integrity, concern for our nonprofit's development and mission, a sense of humor.

Specialists in Education Administration for K-12, medical school, and forensic sciences 

OVERVIEW OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for specialists in education administration - preferably retired persons - to serve as members of our Board of Trustees.

One specialist should be aware of the rules, regulations, and administration of a K-12 boarding/charter school with emphasis on Advanced Placement courses such as academics, athletics, social life and 24-7 supervision.

We also need specialists in forensic sciences (medical examiner; crime labortory analyst; crime scene examiner; forensic engineer; technical analysts) interested in developing a school in these areas of education.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience with K12 boarding/charter schools, medical schools, criminology and criminal justice schools or training.

Skills: education, health care, forensic science, administration and management, organizational development, entrepreneurship, PR.
