We are
pleased to announce that a Harvard University team of students have decided to join
their forces with us and bring their contribution to the fulfillment of our
charity's mission statement.
Please meet our volunteers in their own words!
"As a group we come from varied and
international backgrounds but all share the values and mission of All Hearts Foundation.
We hope to have a large impact on the organization through this project and to
help in empowering the children at the heart of project with skills that will
serve them for the rest of their lives. All Hearts Foundation is a compelling
project for us because the organization gives children a foundation from which
they can build both their personal development and a greater sense of
community.

Flomar Maurrasse
I was born and raised in Miami, and while in high school, fairly involved with my local church, helping out in the band and working with the youth group. After Miami I moved to Chicago where I studied economics at the
University of Chicago. While there, I did some tutoring with kids on the South
Side of Chicago, one of the less advantaged neighborhoods in the city. I also
volunteered with my University career office, providing and
improvement ideas to help the school build programs to better serve students.
Before business school I was working for Merrill Lynch in private wealth
management.
I've always had a passion for mentoring, especially students, since
you really get to empower an individual to achieve even more on their
potential. I'm really excited to be working with you and your team since I
think your mission and passion take the idea of empowerment to a really
personal and long-lasting level.
Ipek

I was born and raised in Turkey. I studied business and engineering
at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and have been working as a
management consultant at McKinsey & Company since then. My work has been
primarily around strategic planning and organizational performance improvement
in pharmaceutical, banking and telecommunications industries.
Since childhood,
my family and I have been very involved with the Rotary foundation. A turning
point in my life was contributing to eradication of poverty in the small
village of Comelek in Turkey through a microcredit project, which involved
providing heifer cows to woman villagers. In 4 years, the project reached the
critical mass to establish a small-scale dairy industry and that's when I
decided it's my passion and my obligation to help the underprivileged. I've
also volunteered for 3 years in the Turkish Educational Volunteers Foundation,
whose goal is to create and implement educational programs and extracurricular
activities for underprivileged children. I volunteered as an educational
representative in various activities conducted at the education parks, learning
units and primary schools affiliated with the foundation.

I
was born and raised in Tampico, Mexico. I majored in Chemical Engineering at
the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation I joined Bayer MaterialScience's
North American headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I worked in
market development. While in Pittsburgh I was an adult ESL instructor to
immigrants from different countries for a year and a half. I am very excited to
help you develop a project that will undoubtedly change the lives of many!

I am from New Jersey and
attended Wellesley College as double major in economics and Spanish. Prior to enrolling at Harvard Business
School, I worked for four years as an analyst on Wall Street working on fixed
income products. For the past three
years, I have also volunteered my time as a junior executive board member of
the Harlem Children's Storefront, a charter school (tuition-free) serving 300,
K-8, underprivileged kids. Most of my
duties focused on fundraising amongst the New York City young professional community, but
I also provided advice as to how the school can better reach its financial
targets and generate awareness of the school and its mission. I am very excited to be working with you on
such a dynamic project.

I studied politics at university in the United Kingdom and have since lived and
worked in London, and then Mumbai, India, before moving to the United States. I am British
and grew up in the suburbs of London. I spent a year after I graduated working
on my university students' union to encourage teens from lower socioeconomic
backgrounds to apply to Higher Education.
As a student, I volunteered with a
Higher Education Project operating from a college mission in a deprived area in
South London where we encouraged young teenagers to take control of their
futures through education. More recently I spent a year volunteering with a
not-for-profit organization in Mumbai, India. Ummeed (which means hope in Urdu)
works with children with developmental and sensory disabilities to ensure they
get access to medical support and education. I have worked both in the private
and public sectors as well as with not-for-profits and have experience of
running campaigns, strategic planning, public affairs, and lobbying.
